Who Owns What

The Website, its copy, diagrams, layout, illustrations, the Bailment mark and the Bailee mark are owned by Bailment, Inc. or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing on this Website transfers ownership of any of it to You.

Open Source Components

The protocol specification, the smart contracts and the software development kits are published under the Apache License, Version 2.0. You may use, copy, modify and redistribute those components on the terms of that licence, including its notice and attribution requirements. The Apache 2.0 grant applies only to those components. It does not apply to the Website copy, the diagrams, the marks, or any Bailee service.

Third-Party Material

Typefaces are served by Google Fonts and remain subject to their own licences. Any other third-party component keeps its own licence and its own owner. We claim nothing in them.

What You May Do Without Asking

• Quote a short passage from this Website with attribution to Bailment, Inc. and a link to the page You quoted.

• Link to any page on this Website.

• Use the Apache 2.0 components under that licence.

What You May Not Do Without Written Permission

A certificate issued through Bailee, and the registry entries a verifier reads, are factual records. You may keep, copy, file and share a certificate You hold, and any court or opposing party may check it. We claim no copyright over the fact of Your own certificate.

We will review it and respond. We do not yet operate a designated-agent notice-and-takedown procedure under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, so this is not a substitute for one.
