This Privacy Policy describes what information We collect when You use the Website, how We use it, and Your rights.
In short: the Website is a static demonstration site. It has no user accounts, no shopping, no cookies set by Us, no analytics, and no advertising. The only information that reaches Us is the request data that Our hosting provider records in its server logs, and anything You choose to put in an email to Us.
Interpretation and Definitions
Interpretation
The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions have the same meaning whether they appear in singular or in plural.
Definitions
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:
Company (referred to as either "the Company", "We", "Us", or "Our") refers to Bailment, Inc., a Delaware C corporation. For the purpose of the GDPR, the Company is the Data Controller.
Website refers to Bailment, accessible from https://bailment.tech
Service refers to the Website.
Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
Usage Data refers to data recorded automatically by the infrastructure that serves the Website, such as the address of the requesting device and the page requested.
Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes data on behalf of the Company. For the purpose of the GDPR, Service Providers are Data Processors.
Device means any device that can access the Service, such as a computer, a phone, or a tablet.
You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service. Under the GDPR, You may be referred to as the Data Subject.
How This Website Works
The Website is a set of static pages hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. There is no application server of Ours behind it and no database of Ours behind it.
The Website does not sell anything. There are no user accounts, no sign-up forms, no subscriptions, no payments, and no mobile application.
The Bailee product is described on the Website. A firm that uses Bailee keeps its own documents. The Company stores none of them. No document, filing, or client identifier is uploaded through the Website.
What Data We Collect
Server Log Data Held by Our Host
When Your browser requests a page, Our hosting provider records that request in its server logs. Such a log entry normally includes the IP address of Your Device, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the HTTP status of the response, the browser user agent string, and the referring page if Your browser sends one.

Email You Send to Us
If You write to admin@bailment.tech, We receive Your email address, any name or signature block You include, and whatever You choose to write in the message or attach to it. Please do not send Us confidential client information or privileged material by email.
What We Do Not Collect
We do not set cookies on the Website. We do not use analytics, tag managers, session recorders, advertising networks, or social media trackers. Every file the Website needs — text, styles, images and fonts — is served from bailment.tech, so viewing a page makes no request to any third party. We do not collect account data, because there are no accounts. We do not collect payment card or bank data, because nothing is sold on the Website. We do not knowingly collect any special category of Personal Data.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the Website. Serving pages requires Your Device address to be processed by the host.
- To keep the Website secure. Server logs help detect and respond to abuse, attacks, and faults.
- To answer You. We use the contents of Your email to reply to Your question, request, or report.
- To comply with the law. We use and keep data where a legal obligation requires it, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use Your data for advertising. We do not sell or rent Your data. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not send marketing email to addresses that write to Us, unless You ask Us to.
Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
- Legitimate interests: operating and securing the Website, and replying to messages sent to Us.
- Legal obligations: keeping or disclosing data where the law requires it.
- Consent: where You give it for a specific purpose, for example if You ask Us to add You to a list. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Retention of Your Data
Server logs are held by Our hosting provider and are deleted on that provider's schedule, which We do not control.
We keep email correspondence for seven years from the date of the last message in the exchange, and then delete it. We keep it that long so that We can answer follow-up questions and show what was said if a dispute arises later.
We keep any data longer where a law, a legal hold, or the defense of a legal claim requires it.
Transfer of Your Data
The Company is in the United States, and the Website is hosted in the United States. If You use the Website or write to Us from outside the United States, Your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection law may differ from the law of Your jurisdiction.
We take steps that are reasonably necessary to make sure Your data is treated securely and in line with this Privacy Policy.
Disclosure of Your Data
Service Providers
Our hosting provider and Our email provider process data on Our behalf so that the Website can be served and email can be delivered. They may access that data only to perform those tasks.
Business Transactions
If the Company is involved in a merger, an acquisition, or an asset sale, data We hold may be transferred. We will give notice before data We hold about You is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Law Enforcement and Other Legal Requirements
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or in response to a valid request by a public authority such as a court or a government agency. We may also disclose data in the good faith belief that the action is necessary to:

The Website is served over HTTPS. We hold very little data, which is the main protection We can offer You. Even so, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is fully secure. We use commercially acceptable means to protect Your data, but We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Your Rights
Depending on where You live, You may have the right to ask Us to:
- Confirm whether We hold Personal Data about You, and give You a copy of it
- Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete data We hold about You

In practice, the only data We can search is email correspondence, because that is the only data We hold under Our own control. To make a request, write to admin@bailment.tech. We may ask You to confirm Your identity before We act on a request.
We do not sell personal information and We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against You for exercising any of these rights.
If You are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, You also have the right to complain to Your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track
The Website does not track You across websites, so a Do Not Track signal changes nothing about how the Website behaves.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from anyone under 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You believe Your child has sent Us Personal Data, contact Us at admin@bailment.tech. If We learn that We have collected Personal Data from a child under 13 without parental consent, We will take steps to delete it.

The Website may contain links to other websites that We do not operate. If You click a third-party link, You will be taken to that third party's site.
